Application of Ionic Wind Snake in Static Removal of Optical Glass for Injection Molding Parts

Background:

An automotive electronic component manufacturing enterprise produces high-precision injection molded optical glass (such as car camera lenses and dashboard light-transmitting panels). Due to the material characteristics and the friction of the injection molding process, the surface of the product often generates up to 8-15kV static electricity,

Causes the following problems:

Adsorption dust: static electricity causes the glass surface to adsorb dust in the workshop, affecting the light transmittance (the measured light transmittance decreases by 5%-8%), resulting in substandard optical performance;

Processing hidden dangers: electrostatic discharge leads to the accumulation of induced charge in precision injection molds, causing equipment false alarms (about 20 hours of downtime per month);

Packaging contamination: electrostatic adsorption of packaging material debris.

Solution:

Equipment: Tronovo Angstrom ion wind snake TN2503.

Configuration features:

Flexible design of snake pipe: the deformable air nozzle is accurately pointed to the gap on the glass surface and is suitable for special-shaped injection parts (such as curved lenses);

Double-effect static elimination: spray positive and negative ions through compressed air (0.5MPa) to neutralize surface static electricity to less than ± 35V within 5 seconds;

Non-contact operation: to avoid the traditional conductive brush physical contact caused by the glass scratch.
